Roles Description

Our client (Electrical & Automation Company) works on a number of industrial sites spread across the triangle between Eindhoven/Nijmegen/Maastricht. You will be part of a team that provides on-site technical services.

As a Lead Hardware Engineer, your job is to study and develop projects in the field of control, control and monitoring of production processes. You make control drawings for electrical installations. In addition, you will research and develop hardware and check the installation and operation of the design. You are, where appropriate, responsible for selecting and specifying materials.

What are you going to do?

  • You make a work plan based on information provided by Manager Projects or Manager Electrical & Automation

  • You ensure that the right Engineer is selected for each design and make use of everyone's unique knowledge and qualities.

  • For larger designs, you ensure that the sub-designs are realized by the most optimal team composition, in which knowledge and skills are complementary.

  • You ensure that new employees are trained correctly and that your entire team has the opportunity to maintain or increase their knowledge.

  • You design (complex) hardware systems (electrical installations, machines and subsystems) for both projects and for the internal organization.

  • You make control drawings based on the specifications drawn up, taking into account the wishes of the customer

  • You ensure that every installation and its operation is extensively checked and tested and evaluate every design with the team

  • You are active in detecting possible design errors and respond appropriately to them

  • You manage the design process and keep the client informed every step of the way (iterative process)

  • You are alert to the future-proofing and expandability of his designs and can therefore at any time turn the customer's questions/requests into constructive solutions

  • You record all documentation and process steps and ensure that your team does the same

  • You maintain the equipment manual

  • You test your designs yourself and, if necessary, have tests carried out by third parties, always in consultation with the customer

  • You always keep in mind the ease of use of his designs, not only based on his own level of knowledge, but also on the level of the end user

  • You ensure that all team members use the hardware cost-efficiently and know how to find the balance between the time investment in a design and the final returns (profit) from this


Who are you?

Your focus in the work is on finding the right balance between technology and ease of use. You also never lose focus on the management of the Hardware and CAD Engineers. In doing so, you monitor the progress of all projects with regard to the electrotechnical systems. You inspire and motivate the Engineers to come up with the best innovative designs for the customer and support them where necessary.

  • You have a clear vision of the scope of the projects, how they relate to each other and can therefore objectively keep an overview and set priorities

  • You can interpret project specifications in the right way and convert them into a clear design

  • In the event of changes in project specifications, you can oversee the consequences for the design and ensure that he can implement them in the design in an efficient way

  • You have knowledge of electrical installations, machines and subsystems and actively ensure that your own level of knowledge is high, that of the Engineers

  • You know how to form teams to create more complex designs and encourage them to work together optimally, so that the best result is achieved for the customer

  • You are aware that designing hardware systems is a solitary activity and ensure that the Engineers actively seek each other out to make use of each other's knowledge and qualities.

  • You are able to be a sparring partner for both external and internal clients in drawing up the specifications and the final design. You also actively communicate with the end user

  • Your advisory ability enables you to advise the customer on the (im)possibilities of the specifications/wishes, you always communicate clearly and concretely about this

  • You can express yourself in the Dutch and English language, verbally and in writing

  • You can also read and interpret English technical drawings and specifications


What do you need for this?

  • HBO/WO working and thinking level (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and/or measurement and control technology)

  • Knowledge of or experience with project management (e.g. PRINCE or Lean Six Sigma/black belt)

  • Use of all relevant computer programs

Role description

As an Energy Technology Technician, you will contribute to providing services to our existing and new clients in new maintenance projects. Together with your direct colleagues, you are responsible for the execution of all the activities mentioned below, in which safety and quality are of paramount importance. You take the right actions in the event of maintenance and malfunctions. At the same time, you will grow with the team in the development of new working methods, smarts and you will develop a cost-saving mindset for maintenance and project assignments where quality always comes first.

What are you going to do?

  • Assembling and disassembling medium- and high-voltage components

  • Laying and connecting medium-voltage cables;

  • Carrying out preventive, corrective and condition-dependent maintenance;

  • Carrying out measurements and testing of, among other things, cables and medium-voltage components;

  • Carrying out low-high voltage inspections. 

  • Commissioning of low- and medium-voltage installations.


Who are you? Firstly, you have at least a relevant course in Electrical Training or comparable technical training. In addition, I have a demonstrable affinity or experience with high-voltage components. For this position, it is important that you have a sturdy and flexible personality. You also have the necessary drive to continuously develop yourself in your field. You have a proactive attitude and are able to provide advice within and outside our organization. You are no stranger to ambition and you keep looking for better solutions.

The position of Field Service Engineer is a challenging, dynamic world job. As you travel the world, you'll be doing what you love most: solving our customers' problems on-site. You will meet interesting people and work independently in the field. You will combine your technical expertise with your social skills. In addition, you will advise the customer about the possibilities of the system and about the additional offers we can make.   • As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

  • You will help customers with their possible machine-related problems via phone, e-mail, remote communication and site visits.

  • Occasionally, you will also install upgrades and modifications at customers worldwide.

  • You provide the customer with correct knowledge transfer and will listen carefully to their requirements.

  • You will also provide training to the customers in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting the system.

  • You give feedback to your colleagues about specific customer wishes and technical developments.

  • You assist your Customer Support colleagues and, if necessary, your production colleagues.

  • You report to the Customer Support Manager.


  • A relevant qualification, preferably in electrical or mechatronics;

  • You have at least 2-5 years of work experience in a similar position;

  • You have an independent, strong personality, a great sense of responsibility, good analytical skills and team spirit;

  • You have a feel for commercial aspects, organizational talent and a customer-oriented representative attitude;

  • You speak and write fluent English

  • Foreign cultures and international communication challenge.

  • You are trustworthy and respectful;

  • You are willing to travel worldwide for more than 50% and ad hoc. Of course, the actual amount of travel depends on the amount of work;

  • You are willing to be available outside of regular working hours for customer calls during the consignment service.
